Fanning Middle School
On a street beautifully lined with aged Persimmon trees is where you will find Fanning Middle School. Opening in 1907, originally as Fanning Elementary School, it served as a St. Louis Public School until it closed in 2021. Named for Rose Wright Fanning, one of the most renowned women of her time, served as a principal from 1876 until a week before her death. Now the 76,000 square foot building sits vacant suffering as the years take it's toll. Since closing in 2021, the building is showing its age and is in dire need of revitalization.
Screaming Eagle Development understands the complexity of this undertaking having repurposed two other historic schools into apartments. We are excited to bring life back to this architecturally rich property.
